Hard to tell, but they're watching it vibrate Program Goals Encourage kids to explore different skills Offer the opportunity for hands-on learning Promote nonfiction Supplies I've purchased many kits and finally decided this year that the extra expense wasn't worth it. I bought the components and it was less expensive, I think, and easier overall. If I was going to buy kits, I'd go with Brown Dog Gadgets, which are the simplest and least-expensive. 2 packs of four bristlebots from Brown Dog Gadgets  (roughly $20 apiece) 20 button cell batteries ($7) 15 mini vibrating motors ($15) Toothbrushes (about $1 apiece at Walmart) Double-sided tape ("borrowed" from processing, to whom I now owe a roll of double-sided tape) Wiggly eyes, pipe cleaners, and glue dots (should have just used those to start with) from supplies Leftover pieces from the past years we've done brushbots Resources and Display Titles I did not put anything out. Registration is required and space is limited, so if you are unable to attend please let the library know. There is no age restriction, but you must have the following skills to attend: Required skills: Ability to work independently and wait patiently for assistance when needed. Can safely use sewing implements with minimal supervision (needles and sharp scissors) Ability to thread a needle (needle threaders will be provided) and knot the end. Kids cut out and glued on paper. I also have matching games with magnets that go on our magnetic chalkboard. Program Goals: Introduce Denise Fleming and her art Encourage gross and fine motor skills (ripping, painting) Attendance: 20 Art Project Part 1: Decoupage (10-10:15) We did decoupage as the closest thing to making our own paper that I could think of. The kids ripped up tissue paper and "painted" over it with glue. At 10:15ish, I sing the  Storytime Song Supplies Shirt cardboard or cardstock Tissue paper in small pieces Glue, paintbrushes Storytime/Snacktime: 10:15-10:40 I get all the kids more or less sitting down and ask a parent or two to pass out the snack during the first story.
